Hundreds attend charity twirl event at Darlington College

MORE than 150 people attended a tea and twirl charity fundraiser to raise money for the Darlington and District Samaritans.
To help boost the charity’s coffers, guest enjoyed a traditional afternoon tea dance and a raffle, with prizes including a round of four at Darlington Golf Club and a House of Commons whisky, donated by MP Jenny Chapman.
The event was held on Saturday, September 21 and special guest, Sue Snowdon, the Lord Lieutenant of County Durham said: “I was delighted to attend tea and a twirl an event in support of the Darlington and District Samaritans.
“It was a lovely afternoon, a most enjoyable way to promote the organisation and raise funds in support of the incredible service the Samaritans provide.”
BRIDGE SESSIONS: A charity bridge session in aid of St Teresa’s Hospice will take place on Monday, October 7 at 1.15pm at St George’s Bridge Centre, in Darlington.
Admission is £5 and includes bridge, tea and prizes. For more details call 01325-469785.
