THOUSANDS of pounds has been raised for St Teresa’s Hospice after another successful annual ball.
Organisers of the Casablanca-themed event, hosted by Darlington College, hope that it will raise more than £10,000 to support the hospice’s work.
The 250 guests enjoyed a piano greeting in a palm tree decorated hall before tucking into the themed menu.
Many tried their hand at the guaranteed win raffle, as well as an auction and casino that were held to raise money for the Darlington charity.
Hospice director Jane Bradshaw said: “Our annual ball is considered by many to be the highlight of Darlington’s social season, and Casablanca has been no exception.
“It was quite a night down at ‘Rick’s place’, and I’d like to thank Darlington College for hosting us, as well as everyone who has supported the event by attending and through sponsorship, advertising or by donating a prize for our raffle.
“Finally, a big thank you goes out to our volunteer team who use their own time to put this amazing event together.”
