Free training day to support those with dementia

DEMENTIA FRIENDS: A training course to help people support someone with dementia will be hosted by Dementia Friends at the Dolphin Centre, in Darlington, on Wednesday, October 9, between 10am and 4pm. The free course will give information and resources about becoming a Dementia Friends Champion, who in turn can support others looking for information about the condition. TRICK AND TREAT: Customers of Thomas Cook and Co-Operative travel agent are asked to donate sweets and treats to be distributed to underprivileged children around the town for Halloween. Items can be dropped off any of the four branches in the town between Monday, October 14 and October 26.
TABLE TENNIS: People of all ages and abilities are invited to play table tennis at Haughton Education Village on Wednesday (October 9) between 6.30pm and 8.30pm. Entry is £3 per person.
CHURCH SONG: Darlington Choral Society will perform at St Cuthbert’s Church on Wednesday (October 9) at 7.30pm. The group has a repertoire including traditional and modern music.
ARTS CLUB: The Darlington Society of Arts will hold a club night at Hummersknott Academy, on Wednesday, October 9, featuring a programme of models, demonstrations and talks. New members are welcome. The event starts at 7pm. For details all 01325-353482.
