Cancer support group
DURHAM and District Women’s Cancer Support Group will meet in the education department common room at the University Hospital of North Durham, Durham City, on Monday, October 14, at 7.30pm. Rosie Wood, Macmillan therapy service lead at Willowburn Hospice, will demonstrate the values of ‘le bed exercises’ for people with lymphodema.
FOODBANK COLLECTION: Durham Foodbank will hold a collection day at Morrison’s in Chester-le-Street on Saturday (October 12) from 10am to 4pm. Donations are welcome. To get involved, email: firstname.lastname@example.org
CHOIR NIGHT: East Fife Male Voice Choir will perform at Elvet Methodist Church, Old Elvet, Durham City, on Friday (October 11) at 7.30pm. Tickets are £5, available on the door. Proceeds will go to the Kwagala Trust, which helps orphans in Uganda.
MARKET RETURNS: The Continental Food Market will return to Durham Market Place from Thursday to Sunday (October 10-13). There will be food from France, Germany, Poland, Italy, Spain, Turkey and beyond. It will be open from 10am to 5pm Thursday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday.
