A CONSETT schoolgirl raised more than £1,100 for a children’s charity by a organising a fair.
Nicola Clarke, 13, held the event at the weekend in a local church hall to boost the coffers of the Newlife Foundation, which helps disabled and terminally ill children.
The event, which featured a tombola, a raffle and a cake stall, raised £1,130. Nicola’s mother Sharon said: “People are still giving us donations.
“Before this, Nicola had raised £600 on top of this. We are very poud of her."
Nicola was inspired to start supporting the charity because of a friend with a rare genetic disorder.
She was nominated for, and won, a community award from the Newcastle Building Society.
