Musical all-rounder Lisbee's swift return to Durham's Gala Theatre
A RISING acoustic-pop star returns to a theatre as headline act just a month after performing there as part of a touring backing band.
Folk-pop singer and all-round musician Lisbee Stainton brings her solo Word Games show to The Gala Theatre, Durham, on Friday, November 8.
It is one of nine dates on the tour, following the release of her fourth solo album, Word Games, on November 4.
Recorded recently at studios in the south-east Wales, it is the culmination of the 25-year-old singer-songwriter’s most successful year in the musical arena.
Among the names she has toured with in recent months are Joan Armatrading, Paul Carrack and Gretchen Peters.
The Durham date on her Word Games tour comes exactly a month after Stainton's appearance at The Gala tonight (Tuesday October 8) as part of the backing band to folk star Seth Lakeman on his 17-day national tour, in which she also performs as a co-singer.
Special guest at Stainton’s Durham concert date will be Irish singer Eleanor McEvoy.
Tickets for the November 8 show, curtain up 7.30pm, are £15, or £13 when also buying for the following night’s (Saturday November 9) Show of Hands concert, featuring Miranda Sykes, at the theatre.
