RAF Leeming big coffee mornings raise almost £1,000
5:54pm Tuesday 8th October 2013 in News
RAF LEEMING personnel and families raised more than £950 at this year’s World’s Largest Macmillan Coffee Morning.
Two events were held at the station, near Bedale, with a huge range of cakes on offer.
The first was organised with the help of Michelle Reeves and Grace Cennell at the RAF Leeming Community Centre and raised more than £550.
The second event was held at the Logistics Squadron tea bar and involved a highly popular bacon butties sale. More than £400 was raised on the day, and the aim is to continue fundraising within the squadron.
Kay McCormack of Logistics Squadron said: “I was very pleased that the event was so well supported by RAF Leeming personnel, both service and civilian. Events like these would not be a success without the volunteers who bake or buy cakes, help with the preparations, and assist on the day.”
