CHEFS at a North Yorkshire school hope to join a national bid to raise £40,000 to fight child hunger by baking 54,000 biscuits. Queen Mary’s School in Thirsk is joining a nationwide bid by catering company Holroyd Howe, which serves independent schools, to raise money for Action Against Hunger. It will be selling specially prepared oat and raisin cookies on November 20, Universal Children’s Day, for 75p each. Every penny will go to the charity.
