Selection of American beers on offer in Darlington pubs during festival
TWO Darlington pubs will serve brews from Amercia during a beer festival this month. The US beers will be available at The Tanners Hall in Skinnergate and The William Stead in Crown Street and have been sourced from States including California, Georgia, Massachusetts and Oregon. They will complement up to 40 UK beers being served in the pubs from October 16 to 31. Seasonal and speciality beers will also be on offer, including pumpkin, peppercorn, organic and a coffee stout.
DRAGON'S BOOK: Entrepreneur and television ‘Dragon’ Duncan Bannatyne will be in the Cornmill Shopping Centre, in Darlington, on Thursday to sign copies of his new book. Mr Bannatyne will be at the WH Smith store from 11am to meet fans and sign copies of his second volume of memoirs; Riding the Storm.
CHARITY CLIMB: A trio of colleagues from Darlington's Northgate Vehicle Hire successfully completed a charity climb up Mount Kilimanjaro. The group spent six days conquering the 12,000ft mountain, raising over £3,000 for the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity and for local youngster Evie Poole, who suffers from cerebral palsy.
