A CITY centre pub will reopen this weekend after a £200,000 refurbishment.
The City pub, in New Elvet, Durham, has been taken over by North-East brewery Camerons.
It will open its doors on Friday after a six-week makeover, overseen by new manager Chris Makin, who at 25 is one of the company’s youngest pub bosses.
Mr Makin said: "Camerons gives its managers a lot of autonomy to run the pubs as individual operations, which while challenging allows me to make a real impact in the decisions and running of the site.
"The City is a great pub and watching it transform every day over the last six weeks has been fantastic. A lot of hard work has gone into making it look right and now the work will really begin once doors open".
