Charity offers cheap security equipment to tackle Shildon burglars
A CHARITY is urging residents in Shildon to get in touch for cheap security equipment on offer.
The Shildon Community Safety Group is offering the items which include personal alarms and goods for home and shed security.
It receives funding from various sources including Durham County Council and the Bishop Auckland and Shildon Area Action Partnership.
A spokesman for the charity said: “Anyone who lives or works in Shildon can take advantage.
“We get the items from the police at a cost price. We then sell them to people but the price we charge is less than the shops charge.”
Safety awareness events and presentations have also been run by the group. The team also works with schools to provide safety workshops.
Details can be obtained by contacting the charity between 10am and 2pm on Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays on 01388-778300.
