Roadworks planned for Carmel Road North in Darlington
ROADWORKS WARNING: Motorists are warned that temporary traffic lights will be operating on a busy Darlington road for up to three weeks. They will be placed on Carmel Road North on Monday (October 21) to enable maintenance work to take place. Darlington Borough Council said efforts will be made to remove the signals as soon as practicably possible each evening, but motorists should expect delays during the work.
MUSIC FESTIVAL: The Half Moon pub and Crafty Pint brewery on Northgate is hosting a festival of evening live music sessions over the weekend of November 1. The Beer, Bottles and Bands Festival will see performances by Mike ‘Dr Blue’ Mckeon, Gary Grainger, The Panic Report and Bad Bob Bates. Entry is free.
CLOSED OFF: Abbotts Yard car park is to close temporarily to enable urgent repair work to be done to a building near its entrance. It will be shut from 8am on Sunday (October, 20) to 7pm on Wednesday (October, 23). Any cars still parked there on Sunday morning will be able to exit via Skinnergate. The work has had to take place at short notice for safety reasons, but shops and other businesses in the area will be open as normal.
