SPORTS mad youngsters can enjoy a variety of physical activity taster sessions in Shildon.
The Shildon All Sports Event is offering youngsters the chance to join sports such as gymnastics, football, bowls, rugby, boxing and fencing.
It was organised by Shildon Youth Council and Peter Garrod, the sport and physical activity development officer, at Durham County Council.
The event is at Shildon Sunnydale Leisure Centre on Wednesday, October 30 from 1pm to 4pm and it is open to anyone aged between five and 18-years.
Derrick Robinson, a volunteer with the event, said: “The youngsters will be split into groups and they will move around the various sporting activities so they can try them all.
“We’re trying to get as many people as possible involved in sports which they normally wouldn’t have a go at.”
Anyone wishing to take part in the free event should turn up at the leisure centre.
