Spennymoor centre's online funds boost
A CHURCH and community centre can more than double the money it receives through online donations this month.
The St Paul’s Centre, in Spennymoor, has teamed up with the charity website LocalGiving.com to boost its coffers.
Every £10 donated to the centre at localgiving.com/stpaulscentrespennymoor will be matched by the website and if donors are UK taxpayers they can opt to gift aid their donation, increasing it by another £2.50.
For everyone who makes a monthly donation of £10 for six months, LocalGiving will add another £60.
The Grow Your Tenner scheme will continue until the £500,000 available through the scheme has been matched nationwide.
The St Paul’s Centre is a social enterprise and provides a meeting place for community groups, training schemes and social events.
Last year, more than 22,000 people passed through the centre’s doors, but it needs to raise funds to keep its community outreach programme going.
