THE search is on for budding Santas of all ages and abilities to take part in a charity run in aid of Herriot Hospice Homecare.
The five-kilometre Santa Fun Run will be held on Sunday, December 8, starting at 11am in the Parkland at Thorp Perrow near Bedale.
Northallerton-based Herriot Hospice Homecare provides care for people in Hambleton and Richmondshire with life limiting illnesses, enabling them to stay in their own homes, and the fun run is the latest idea to raise funds so that charity can continue to provide its services in the area.
The event is open to runners, joggers and walkers – although children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult -and each entrant will be provided with a Santa outfit.
Hospice fundraiser, Sarah Adamson said: “The event will be a great opportunity to get into the Christmas Spirit whilst supporting a fantastic cause.
“We are very grateful to Sir John Ropner for allowing us to use the grounds of Thorp Perrow - which will create the perfect seasonal setting for the fun run.”
The entry fee for the event is £10 for adults and £5 for children under 13. The charity is also encouraging runners to raise sponsorship money and anyone who raises over £20 will receive a Christmas Present.
To enter, download an entry form from herriothh.org.uk or email email@example.com. For further details call 01609-777413.
