Spooky stories theme for open mic night for authors

SPOOKY STORIES: A series of open mic nights for authors, supported by Darlington for Culture, have opened for a third season, with the next event on Thursday, October 31 with spooky stories welcome to mark Halloween. The nights, which offer a forum for writers to read their material and audiences to enjoy it, run at Voodoo Café/Cantina, in Skinnergate, on the last Thursday of the month. Each session starts at 7pm. Entry is £3 on the door.
CHURCH FAIR: St Augstine’s Church will hold an Autumn fair on Saturday, October 26, between noon and 2pm in the parish centre, in Larchfield Street, Darlington. Entry is free. The event includes stalls and refreshments. All proceeds to the Scout group fund.
