Mayor to attend poppy events

DARLINGTON mayor Charles Johnson and mayoress Carol Johnson will visit schools across the borough next week as part of the build up to Remembrance Day. They will visit Holy Family, Corporation Road and Red Hall schools on Monday (November 4), with other engagements planned throughout the week. They will take part in the Remembrance Service, at Holy Trinity Church, in Woodland Road, Darlington, on Sunday, November 10, at 10am, followed by a parade to the cenotaph and service in the grounds of Darlington Memorial Hospital.
AUCTION PREVIEW: Thomas Watson Auctioneers is holding a preview of its autumn fine art, antiques and jewellery auction at the gallery saleroom, in Northumberland Street, Darlington DL3 7HJ, on Thursday, November 14, from 6pm to 8 pm. Tickets cost £5 and the evening includes wine and canapés. All proceeds will go to the Friends of The Bowes Museum. The auction itself will take place on Tuesday, November 19, at 10am.
