Travel agents collect treats for deserving children with trick or treat campaign
1:57pm Wednesday 30th October 2013 in News
TRAVEL agents from four Darlington stores have thanked customers who donated sweets to help sick and vulnerable children celebrate Halloween.
Staff at Thomas Cook Co-operative Travel stores spent two weeks collecting goodies for their Trick or Treat Appeal in aid of the Darlington Memorial Hospital children’s ward and the Darlington Women’s Refuge.
The treats collected by the stores, which were decorated with cobwebs and pumpkins for the campaign, will be delivered to the children who can’t go out trick or treating themselves on Halloween.
Alex Newton, Darlington cluster manager for Thomas Cook Co-operative Travel, said: “This was the perfect opportunity to give local children a little treat, and for staff and customers to have some fun in the process.
“Customers across our four Darlington stores have been incredibly generous and I’m sure the children will really enjoy their gifts.”
