Northallerton ramblers start shorter walks to inspire new members
A RAMBLERS' group has sent out an invitation to would-be members.
Northallerton Ramblers are asking new walkers to join a programme of monthly shorter routes.
The walks, which end with a visit to a local tearoom will be held on Thursdays starting at 10.30am and are part of the Rambler s “Get Walking” campaign. The five to seven-mile walks will be in addition to the group’s existing programme of weekly walks.
The programme starts on November 14 with the Crackpot Mosaic Trail. Ramblers will see more than 20 mosaics on a seven-mile walk on tracks and field paths. The walk starts at Tom Corner near Kirby Malzeard.
There will also be potential for car sharing.
Contact the leader George Bateman on 01609 771169 for information.
Future planned walks include the West Witton Cheese Trail, and easy walks in Arkengarthdale and Lower Wensleydale. Full details are available in local libraries, on the Ramblers walk finder website or by contacting Mr Bateman.
