Launch of new health watchdog for North Yorkshire
5:21pm Monday 4th November 2013 in News
A NEW health watchdog for North Yorkshire is holding a series of launch events across the county this month.
Healthwatch North Yorkshire is the new independent consumer champion for health and social care services.
Its aim is to provide a forum where the views and experiences of patients, carers and the public can influence the local commissioning process and improve the quality of services.
Each launch event will feature a speaker from the new clinical commissioning groups and will provide an opportunity to get involved in shaping the quality of health and social care in North Yorkshire.
The Hambleton event will be at the Golden Lion in Northallerton on November 15, while Richmondshire’s will be at the Catterick Leisure Centre on November 18. The Ryedale launch will be at Malton and Norton Rugby Club on November 12.
Each day will consist of two separate two-hour sessions. The 10am sessions are for key stakeholders and organisations while the 1pm sessions are for individuals and the general public.
Attendance is free but places are limited. Book a place at http://healthwatchnorthyorkshire.eventbrite.co.uk/ or call (01904) 621631.
