Motorists fined at Darlington Magistrates' Court for using mobile phones while driving
MOTORISTS caught driving in Darlington whilst using their mobile phones have been fined in court.
Andrew Plimmer, 39, of Brignall Moor Crescent, Darlington, pleaded guilty to driving whilst using a phone when he appeared before the town’s magistrates today (Tuesday).
He was fined £40, plus £60 in costs and charges, and had three points added to his licence for the offence in July.
Ryan Calvert, 19, of Harris Street, Darlington, did not attend court and magistrates found the case against him proved in absence.
He was fined £400 for using his phone whilst driving along Parkgate in June.
Magistrates also ordered him to pay £125 in costs and charges and endorsed his licence with three points.
