Sacriston man charged with possessing explosives and drugs
A MAN has appeared before magistrates accused of possessing explosives following an incident which resulted in bomb disposal team being called out.
Brian Riley, 27, was arrested at his home in Fulforth Way, Sacriston, near Chester-le-Street, County Durham, on Sunday night.
He appeared at Consett Magistrates’ Court today (Tuesday, November 5) charged with common assault and causing harassment with fear or provocation of violence, contrary to Section 4 of the Public Order Act.
He was also accused of possession of cannibas with the intent to supply and the possession and control of explosives with the intent to endanger life.
He was not asked to plead to the charges and was remanded in custody to appear at Durham Crown Court on Monday, November 11.
