A SPOOKTACULAR Halloween fundraiser discount store raised £110 for the Great North Air Ambulance Service.

Staff at Wilkinson on Beveridge Way, in Newton Aycliffe dressed up as zombies and other scary creatures and invited customers to get into the Halloween spirit to raise funds and awareness for the charity.

Team members also strutted their stuff to the hit Michael Jackson song Thriller, while a cake sale, brimming with devilish desserts, helped to boost donations.

Barbara Tennick, store manager, said: “Our team members are so enthusiastic about fundraising for such an important local charity and they really enjoyed dressing up and doing the Thriller dance!”

Mandy Drake, head of fundraising at the GNAAS, said: “Donations like this help us to keep our charity going and it’s fantastic to have support from Wilko in Newton Aycliffe.

“The store team has done a brilliant job once again and every penny raised will help us to keep our ambulances in the sky.”
