Hurworth Methodist Church is hosting a Christmas carol concert on Thursday (December 12).

It starts at 7pm, carols will be performed by Hurworth Grange Ladies Choir and refreshments will be served.

A collection will be taken for the church funds and Darlington Town Mission.

FIRTHMOOR CENTRE: The Maidendale Nature and Fishing Reserve Trust are holding their Christmas Fair on Sunday (December 15).

The Mayor of Darlington Councillor Charles Johnson will open the event at the Firthmoor Community Centre on Burnside Road at 11am.

Attractions will include a bouncy castle, Santa, stalls and tombola.

ELDON STREET: Rise Carr College is holding a Christmas Fair on Saturday (December 14) in aid of St Teresa’s Hospice.

The event, at the former Phoenix Centre on Eldon Street, will run from 10am to noon and a range of local small businesses will be selling their home made products, along with items made by students.

Children will have the chance to get their photo taken with Rudolf, along with a host of games, activities and arts and crafts on offer.

THE DENES: The Tennis Dene will be a hive of festive fun this Sunday (December 15) with a Christmas fair between 1pm and 4pm.

There will plenty on offer including mulled wine, hot chocolate, crepes, cakes and gifts, alongside a range of activities for all ages – including a lantern workshop.

A carol service will take place at 2pm and the fair will end with a lantern walk at 4pm where participants can use the lanterns they’ve made.
