Salvation Army in Shildon raises £1,354.02 with a Christmas Fayre

The Salvation Army, in Shildon, raised £1,354.02 at a Christmas Fayre to help boost its funds. The event was at the charity’s Cross Street base.

CAROL SERVICE: A memorial Christmas carol service is being held at St Luke’s Church, Church Lane, in Ferryhill, on Thursday (December 12) from 7pm by Co-operative Funeralcare. There will be Christmas readings, carols and candle lighting. There is also the opportunity to place a memorial message for a loved one at the Christmas tree in the church. The Co-operative also has memorial trees in each of its funeral homes where messages can be left throughout December. Details can be obtained from 01388-420242.

COFFEE MORNING: A coffee morning is to be held at Witton Park Methodist Chapel, near to Bishop Auckland, on Saturday. (December 14) It runs between 10am and noon with free entry and donations for the coffee. Proceeds will go towards the church funds.
