Father Christmas set to visit Howden-le-Wear

YOUNGSTERS are invited to meet Father Christmas at Howden-Le-Wear Bridge Street Methodist Chapel on Thursday, December 12, at 6pm.

POLICE MEETING: The Police and Communities Together meeting for Howden-Le-Wear and the surrounding villages will take place on Wednesday, December 11, at 6 30pm, in Howden-Le-Wear Community Centre.

SUNDAY WALK: The Crook and Weardale Ramblers are doing an 11 mile walk in the Slaley-Wooley-Dipton Wood and Todburn Steel area this Sunday, December 15. The group leaves Crook market place at 9am or meet the leader Trevor King at Slaley, park near the village shop, at 9 45am. For more details call 0191-3848471.

CABARET CAROLS: Charity Natural High is holding Cabaret Carols on Friday, December 13, at 7pm, in St Andrews Dawson Street Methodist United Reform Church. Refreshments will be available with a £5 donation. Proceeds will go towards Natural High.

CHRISTMAS SERVICE: There will be a Christmas carol service at St Paul’s Church, Hunwick, on Sunday, December 22, at 6pm, followed by mulled wine and mince pies. On Christmas Eve there will be mass at 11.30pm (CORR) with a mass and carols at 10am on Christmas Day.
