A NEW Home Bargains store is opening in Darlington on Saturday.
The retailer has invested half a million pounds in a unit at Darlington Retail Park, replacing part of the former Comet.
Up to 40 jobs have been created by the move and Joe Morris, operations director at Home Bargains, said: “We’re excited to be opening our first store in Darlington and look forward to welcoming new customers through the doors.”
Home Bargains specialises in offering branded goods at discount prices, including health and beauty, household, sweets, snacks, homeware and drinks.
There are more than 350 Home Bargains stores across the UK and this is the first time the retailer has come to Darlington.
