CHORISTERS made sure that care home residents did not miss out on the joy of carol singers knocking at their door today. (Wednesday, December 11)
Members of Sedgefield-based group the Ringer Singers visited Willowdene Care Home, on the edge of the village, to spread festive cheer by singing traditional carols such as Away in a Manger and Silent Night.
Senior carer, Joanne Potts, said: “Almost all of the home’s 40 residents were in the foyer to listen to the carol singers, they thoroughly enjoyed it and were singing along and clapping away themselves.
“It is really important for residents to get together, to socialise and to celebrate Christmas, it is good for them and for a sense of community.”
