AN MP has praised two friends who opened their own coffee shop, saying they are an example to other young entrepreneurs.
Durham City MP Roberta Blackman-Woods met business partners Peter Angelsea and Patrick Clarke at their Flat White coffee shop, in Elvet Arch, as part of the UK’s first Small Business Saturday.
She said: “Local people tell me how much they care about small and independent businesses such as Flat White, which add to the character of our town and provide greater choice to shoppers.
“That’s why I’m so pleased to celebrate the huge contribution these small businesses make to our community by supporting Small Business Saturday.”
Mr Angelsea and Mr Clarke, both from Durham, opened Flat White in December 2010.
