POLICE are appealing for information after two stones were thrown through the window of a beauty salon. The incident happened in Stones End, Evenwood, near Bishop Auckland, just after 9pm on Tuesday (Tuesday, December 10). The suspects are believed to have made off in a dark coloured BMW which left the scene at speed heading towards the village green. Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Paul Clarke, at Bishop Auckland police station, on 101.

SCHOOL SHOW: Cinderella will be performed at Bishop Barrington School, in Bishop Auckland, on Wednesday, December 18 and Thursday, December 19. Doors open at 6.30pm, tickets £3.

ON SONG: Pupils of music teacher Terence Lawson, of School Aycliffe, are celebrating success in Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music Examinations. On piano Lesley Butterworth achieved grade one and Catherine Batty gained grade one with merit on guitar. In singing exams Amy Ogden got grade two, Anna King gained grade three with merit, Charlotte Altringham achieved grade five and Sarah Bedwell gained grade six with merit.

FAMILY SERVICES: Windmill Methodist Chapel will hold a Christmas family service led by Ruth Dent on Sunday, December 22, 10.30am. All welcome, refreshments available after the service.
