AN animal lover is appealing for help to find the owner of a cat found wandering in Trimdon village.

Fay Irvine, of Fishburn, is looking after the young female cat which was taken in by Clifton Lodge Vets, of Sedgefield.

The long haired cat is a sandy colour with bits of tabby mixed in. It was found on Saturday (December 7) and it seems to have been house trained.

Mrs Irvine said: “I hope the cat’s owner comes forward.

“She has a very lovely nature and she likes to be cuddled. I think she’s being someone’s pet as if she’d been outside for too long her fur would have being tatty.

“I’ve asked animal charities, like Stray Aid, if anyone has approached them about a missing cat.

“I’ll keep the cat for another week and if the owner doesn’t come forward then we’ll look to re-home it.”

Details on the cat can be obtained via Clifton Lodge vets on 01740-622126.
