An art film project that involved shoppers and traders at Darlington market dancing the tango can now be viewed online.

Artist Anton Hecht composed the Stop Start Tango piece which saw members of the public dance a few steps with a trained dancer for a short online film.

The project was supported by Creative Darlington and Arts Council England.

HAMPER SURPRISE: Pensioners at an over 60s group in Firthmoor received surprise Christmas hampers thanks to a donation by Sainsbury’s.

The supermarket donated goods for the hampers which were given to members at the Firthmoor and District Community Association’s annual Christmas lunch this week.

WINDOW SMASHED: Police are appealing for witnesses after a sat nav system was stolen from a Vauxhall Astra parked on Sanderson Street, Darlington.

It happened between 9pm on Tuesday and 8.30am the following morning and the thief smashed the car window to steal the equipment.

Anybody who may have been alerted to the crime due to the noise and saw anything suspicious is asked to contact PC Stew Walker at Darlington Police by calling 101.
