STAFF at a Bishop Auckland car home braved the cold to raise more than £300 for the residents’ fund with a five mile walk.
The seven-strong group walked from Sandringham Care Home, on Escomb Road, to West Auckland and back in Christmas-themed fancy dress today (Monday, December 16).
The money raised will be used to pay for singers and other activities for the residents to enjoy.
Mandy Hopwood, who organised the walk, said: “It was freezing but fun. The residents were going to join us but it was too cold.
“We have to pay for all the entertainment by raising money so the more we do the more singers I can get in.”
