Award-winning lamb served up for Sunday lunch

AN award-winning lamb has been served up for Sunday lunch.

Eleven members of Lower Wensleydale Young Farmers presented their show lambs at Leyburn Auction Mart’s Christmas fat lamb show.

All lambs were reared and fed by the members to exhibit on the day.

Judge Nigel Fawcett, from the Street Head Inn, in Bishopdale, had the job of picking out the top five.

Jack-Thomas Iveson claimed first place, Lucy Walker was second, Eithan Scarr third, Andrew Reynolds fourth and James Robinson fifth.

The 46kg winning lamb was later bought by Judge Nigel Fawcett for £200 and took centre stage at the pub’s carvery on Sunday.
