CARE home residents enjoyed carols sung by school pupils as part of a series of Christmas activities.

Youngsters from St Stephen’s Primary School, in Willington, visited Willington Care Village to perform the carols.

They were joined by singer Rosemary Smith at the Christmas party.

Members of North-East Productions also entertained the elderly residents with a pantomime version of Charles Dickens’ Oliver Twist.

Julie Gray, manager at the care village, said: “Christmas is a special time and we like to make it as exciting as possible for our residents.

“It is also very important that the residents are able to share the festivities with their relatives and the local community.

“It is great to see them sharing such special moments.”
