BRASS CONCERT: Durham Constabulary Brass Band is to perform a carol concert at St Cuthbert’s Church, opposite County Hall, in Durham on Sunday (Dec 22). Admission is free and the concert starts at 3pm.
GAS MAINS: Motorists are being warned that three-way traffic lights will be installed on the A183 in Bournmoor from January 6 while work takes place to replace the gas main. The work, in the Chester Road and Rose Crescent area, is scheduled to last for two weeks.
COUNTRY STROLL: Voluntary countryside ranger Steve Shippen will lead a four-hour New Year’s Day walk around Causey Arch, near Stanley. The 7.5-mile walk starts at 10am from Causey Arch picnic area on the western side of the A6076 and costs £4 per person.
