HELP is being offered to people who have recently been diagnosed with type-two diabetes or have been told they are at risk of developing the condition.

The project, which is available to people living in Newton Aycliffe or Darlington, aims to improve people’s knowledge, skills and confidence through a series of sessions.

Health Trainer Donner Kelly, from the Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP), said: “We encourage positive behaviour changes and provide participants with the information and resources that they require to make changes and hopefully improve their health and wellbeing.”

The next Live Well, Take Control, Managing Diabetes sessions take place on Monday, January 13, from 10am to noon, and Wednesday, January 15, from 6pm to 8pm at the Pioneering Care Centre on Carers Way in Newton Aycliffe.

Health Trainers can also offer diabetes risk assessments and HbA1c finger prick blood tests. For more information contact 01325-321234 or donna.kelly@pcp.uk.net
