CAROL CONCERT: A community carol concert on The Green, at Hurworth, near Darlington, on Friday (December 20) raised £215 for Help for Heroes through a collection.

REDUCED ENTRY: The Head of Steam Museum, in North Road, Darlington, is offering reduced entry prices over the Christmas holidays. On Friday, December 27, Saturday, December 28 and Sunday, December 29, entry will be £1 per person. On Sunday, characters from Darlington Civic Theatre’s pantomime Aladdin will be at the museum from 11.30am. The museum is open between 11am and 3.30pm each day.

COMEDY CLUB: The Hilarity Bites Comedy Club will be held at The Forum, in Borough Road, Darlington, on Friday, December 27, at 7.45pm. Stand-up comedians Duncan Oakley and Daliso Chaponds will perform. Entry is £10 on the door.

VISUAL AUDIT: PCSOs for the Northgate ward of Darlington completed a visual audit of the area and found there are still a number of issues with glass, litter and dog fouling. There are also problems with obstructive parking, particularly in Gladstone Street. However, the streets and rear alleys were found to be clean on the whole.

LIVE MUSIC: The P-Jays, a four piece group, will perform at Harrowgate Hill Club and Institute, in Salters Lane, Darlington, on Friday, December 27, at 8pm.
