Police are appealing for information after a burglary at a house in Rose Crescent, in Sacriston, at about 6.40pm on Saturday, December 21. A police spokesman said two men broke into the house in and stole a quantity of cash and jewellery. Anyone with any information is asked to call Durham Police on 101 and ask for the Serious Crime Team in Stanley or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

PACT MEETING: A Police and Community Together (Pact) meeting will be held at the Great Lumley Community Centre in Great Lumley from 7.30pm to 8.30pm on Wednesday, January 8. A representative of the neighbourhood policing team will be in attendance.

RETROSPECTIVE PERMISSION: Durham County Council has granted retrospective planning permission for the enclosure of land with a fence at the former council depot in Trent Crescent, Great Lumley.
