Masons Arms can be demolished
DURHAM County Council has granted Paula Atkinson planning permission to demolish The Masons Arms, in West Rainton, near Durham City, and build five houses on the site.
WITNESS APPEAL: Police have appealed for witnesses following a burglary at a house in Station Road, Easington Colliery, between 11am and 11pm yesterday (Thursday, December 26). Anyone with information should contact the police on 101 and quote reference EF1301983.
CASTLE CLOSED: Durham Castle will be closed to the general public until Thursday, January 2, when guided tours will resume.
