DOGS Trust Darlington is looking for a new home for a Belgian Shepherd dog that has not taken to life in kennels.

Seven-year-old Hera was taken in as a stray by the Sadberge rehoming centre last month but she stays with a carer overnight because she is having trouble adjusting to life in the kennels.

The Trust is keen to house Hera with a new adult family - preferably as the only dog - who would be at home most of the day and ideally have had Shepherd types before.

Sue Embleton, Dogs Trust Darlington centre manager, said: “Hera is an older girl and quite set in her ways, but don’t be fooled as she still loves to go exploring new places and has an extra spring in her step if there is a tasty treat to be gobbled up!

“Hera has opened her heart to many of us at the centre but there is still a space that needs filling.”

To speak about Hera contact the Darlington Rehoming Centre on 01325-333114 or visit the site at Hill House Farm, Sadberge, during the opening hours of noon to 4pm everyday, except Tuesdays.
