A CHARITY is calling on Darlington residents to take advantage of a touring training course to become a Dementia Friends Champion.

The day-long course, run by the Alzheimer’s Society, will help participants understand what it is like to live with dementia and help them turn that understanding into action.

Session participants then go on to become Dementia Friends Champions and use their knowledge to encourage their family, friends and local community to learn more about dementia, and inspire them to help people with the condition to live well.

The course takes place on January 14 at the Community Safety Centre, Park Place, from 10am to 4pm.
