A VILLAGE church holds its first monthly Shoppers’ Service of 2014 on Saturday (January 4), from 10am to 10.30am.

Described as “user-friendly half-hour services”, they have been staged at St Andrew’s Methodist Church in Coxhoe, near Durham, over the last five years, since renovations of the Church Street worship area were completed.

They are intended to supplement, rather than replace the church’s regular Sunday morning worship, and are particularly appealing to those who may find the normal pattern of worship on the Sabbath unsuited to their needs.
Saturday’s speaker will be lay preacher Tony Whiting.
