SCHOOLCHILDREN have come up with a name for the new office block on their doorstep.
Pupils from Villa Real School have christened the £3m building on the next-door Consett Business Park ViewPoint because of its stunning views across open countryside.
Peter McDowell, property director of Business Durham, said: "It’s been a true privilege working with Villa Real School.
"The name ViewPoint is very distinctive and I have no doubt it will help attract businesses to the building over the coming months.
"The first things everyone says to me after seeing the building is what high quality offices they are and what fantastic views across there are of the countryside – so well done to Villa Real School".
Head teacher Sharon Common added: "My students and staff have had a great time naming the new building.
"Coming up with ViewPoint was a team effort and recognises the buildings fantastic location."
The 20,000sq ft premises is the latest development on the park managed by Business Durham.
It was funded by Durham County Council and the European Regional Grant Fund and built by Sir Robert McAlpine Limited.
