VISITORS at Durham Cathedral have taken part in a meditative walk.

The New Year labyrinth walk around the cathedral was held today from 1pm to 3pm. It is based on the labyrinth at Chartres Cathedral, near Paris in France.

Durham Cathedral staff were there to answer questions and make suggestions for how to meditate and pray as visitors walked.

Labyrinth co-ordinator Fiona Fidgin said: “There has been a steady flow of people and it has been really good.

"It gives people the chance to take out of their busy lives and reflect. It is a great way to start the New Year.”
