TWO school pals have won awards from the police after designing the winning posters in a road safety competition.
Archie Wright and Jack Walker, who are both 10 and pupils at Crayke primary, were presented with certificates and bike lights by North Yorkshire’s Deputy Chief Constable Tim Madgwick.
The competition was open to all Year Five and Six pupils at primary schools in the Easingwold area and the posters had to be designed to highlight the dangers of winter cycling, road safety and cycle security.
DCC Madgwick said: “There were some fantastic posters, but Archie and Jack were worthy winners.”
He added: “Road safety is an important issue, especially at this time of year, and I am pleased that young people in Easingwold had the opportunity to get involved in the competition and think about how they can keep themselves and other people safe.”
