Norton cemetery to be closed at night

The cemetery at Norton, near Malton, is to be closed at night for a trial period. Members of the town council have decided to lock the gates from sunset to sunrise from February 1, following issues with dog fouling and concerns over damaged gravestones.

Bowls bid: A bid to buy the bowls club in Norton has been put forward to Ryedale District Council. Ryedale Community and Leisure Centre, which has the support of more than 500 individual users, as well as clubs and organisations, is proposing to fund the purchase through a mortgage and members’ bond scheme.

I can't believe its left open at night anyway. Vandals will still find a way in though. Invest in some CCTV and motion activated lights and cameras to record potential culprits.
