A NEW takeaway will be giving away 200 free pizzas at its official opening this weekend (Saturday, January 11).
The giveaway at Papa John’s, off Sunderland Road, Gilesgate, Durham City, starts at noon on Saturday, when Councillor Pauline Charlton, the Mayor of Durham, will declare the store officially open.
The premises have been converted at a cost of £200,000, with the creation of 25 new jobs.
Owner Dan Wilkinson said: “We are particularly excited to have opened this new store in Durham and are delighted that we have proven to be so popular since opening last week.”
The giveaway will include six-inch cheese and tomato pizzas, served on a first-come, first-served basis.
