POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a bus had its window smashed by a group of youths.
The incident involving an Arriva bus happened on Sunday, December 22, at about 5.15pm, as the bus was turning out of Corporation Road into Northgate.
A group of youths in dark clothing are thought to have thrown stones at the rear window of the bus, causing it to shatter.
PC Jim Edwards, who is investigating the incident, said: “I would like to appeal for anyone in the area who may have seen anything to come forward.
“Fortunately no-one was hurt but the incident left several passengers shaken. This was a reckless and totally irresponsible act by mindless individuals who could have caused an injury or worse. Please help us find these individuals."
Anyone with any information should contact Durham Police on the non-emergency 101 number and ask to speak to PC Jim Edwards.
