A NEW sports group that will give young people the chance to try a different sport every week is to start at the Dolphin Centre.
The Zone, organised by the Sports Development Team at Darlington Borough Council, will take place every Friday between 7pm and 9pm, open to people aged between 11 and 17-years-old.
A number of activities will be held each week, including badminton, swimming and table tennis.
The group will also host a football league and dance and game consoles.
Councillor Nick Wallis, the council’s cabinet member for leisure, said: “TheZone is a fantastic new opportunity for young people.
“Darlington had a superb year for adults getting involved in sport in 2013, and TheZone offers something for everyone - we hope to be welcoming lots of new people.”
Prices are £2 on the door, or £1.50 with a Teen Card. Entry including an hour gym access is £2.35.
